Even the front door has character view from below deck Eagles flying over Lake Deck View to the West Gallery View Nederland, CO 3 Bedrooms 3 Bathrooms 6 Guests Description Rooms Amenities Reviews Calendar Location Timberline Haus is a stunning modern home overlooking Barker Reservoir.  This home is just a quick 15-minute drive from Eldora Ski Resort and is optimally located to enjoy first-tracks on the slopes before the mid-morning rush. After enjoying a day in the mountains, stop on by and experience the local fun in downtown Nederland. NOTE: Home has beds to accommodate 10 people, but occupancy is limited to 6 per Boulder County. The dirt road to the home can be challenging, especially in winter. Please consider 4x4 or at least All Wheel Drive. When you first pull up to this home, you will notice its nothing like any of the other properties around! You will be able to park your car in the garage and head right into this beautiful home. There is free wifi throughout the home. When you first walk in from the garage you will be in the "mud room" and that's where the washer and dryer are which you have access to during your stay. You will probably notice all the floors are concrete and heated, neat! Once you get into the house you will be swept away by the views overlooking the Barker Reservoir, and how open the floor plan is with the kitchen and living room. Step outside to the huge deck where you can enjoy a nice BBQ dinner while hanging by the fire pit with the family. Please note: It is difficult to darken the living room for daytime TV or movie viewing. There is a flat screen in the bunk room for better day viewing but not a lot of seating. The master bedroom is on the main floor and is filled with ceiling to floor windows overlooking the reservoir. Don't worry, we have black out curtains for when you need a nap after skiing or hiking all day.  There is a master bathroom attached to the master bedroom and a huge closet!   Working your way downstairs is where you will find 2 more bedrooms, and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed and an attached bathroom and the other bedroom has 2 big bunkbeds where you can send the kids to play. Stepping outside from the downstairs you will find a covered back deck with a hot tub. The views while sitting in the hot tub are just spectacular and a great way to finish up your day in the mountains! It was super child friendly which we did not even expect. We had two toddlers with us and they had a blast with all the books and entertainment that was there in every closet. They even had a gate for the stairs that we installed. That was a super pleasant surprise and made our life so much easier. Most importantly, Linda was so amazing as a host. She communicated with us and made us feel super safe since we are from California and are not used to driving in snow. She made us feel very comfortable and was there to help us every time we asked her for assistance. Toys, games, high chair, pack n play, baby gate. You name it! Im only giving 4 stars because the sunscreen behind the projector screen didnt stay down so we were unable to watch movies or tv unless it was dark outside and with it being summer, that wasnt until after our kids were in bed. We also didnt have hot water the last night of our trip and had to take hot showers. Our coffee maker didnt work the first morning; however, SkyRun personnel delivered a new one to our house that day so we had fresh coffee in the morning. Overall, I would stay here again. Overall, the housewith its smart features and glazing galoreis incredibly unique and excellently designed to bring the outside in. Air conditioning was a bit of an issue in the summer as the individual units didnt seem to respond to the remote and opening windows for ventilation at night could bring in bugs, but portable fans are available. The main concern when booking this property was its distance to major attractions such as Rocky Mountain NP, but the drives from Nederland (a cool little town on its own) to RMNP, Boulder, and Idaho Springs are all scenic and manageable. Thank you for your impressions, Reece, of the lovely and modern solar home, "Timberline Haus." This sustainable, gorgeous home has spectacular views, making it unique and special. The summertime can sometimes be challenging on a rare, very warm day, as almost all homes in the mountains do not have central air conditioning, and the trick to closing shades during the day and opening them up at night is the trick we suggest. The homes are so well insulated here, of course. The location is remote enough to feel like a getaway, yet manageable to drive to more adventures here. For example, the little fan/units in the rooms had a mind of their own, completely ignored the controller and worked when they wanted to. It wasn't that big of a deal though. The only truly disappointing thing was the tv situation. Not having one in all the bedrooms doesn't make any sense. Also, the projector in the living room is awesome at night. However, it is impossible to watch anything during the day due to the brightness. I would highly recommend putting tv's in each bedroom, and doing something in the living room to make watching tv in the day possible. October 27, 2021 - VRBO Wonderful Mountain Home - perfect for family! While this house is modern in design- it's perfectly accommodating for families large + small! The set up is ideal for kids in the lower level and adults in the master suite upstairs. Lots of room in between to share meals, watch a movie, play games, etc (HUGE game selection was so fun!!) I can't say enough how comfortable we were- for awhile just my husband and I- we watched a bald eagle soar right past us on the upper deck, and even saw a moose on the road to the house! Settled in nature, but for sure all the comforts of home. ((*I am a chef so I *always* appreciate VRBO's with great quality cooking items- knives and pans, even the awesome appliances!
