There’s plenty of room to hang out, play games, or watch shows. The secondary lounge downstairs is a great space for teens to have their own area. We were able to cook all our own meals in the upstairs kitchen. Nederland is nearby in case you need to make a grocery run. We had a great experience and are thinking about coming back. Very peaceful being at the top of the mountain surrounded by large trees. We enjoyed the outdoor grilling and the trips we took to the two state parks for hiking. The town was also very nice to grab a quick bite and do grocery shopping. Being close to Golden also let us visit with family. Seeing the night lights of boulder in the distance let us know we are within distance of some civilization. The stars all around the sky let us know we were on a mountain top. My wife and I could not believe the beauty surrounding us. We enjoyed preparing our meals in the beautiful kitchen, which was stocked pretty well. It was very private and we had more time together. We recommend a four by four vs all wheel drive our all wheel drive vehicle made it up the mountain but the tires had a hard time, especially in the rain. A Four by four is the way to go. The road leading to the house could use maintenance. There were quite a few bugs in the house, spiders etc. To cool down the top part of the house, you have to keep a few doors open. Nets were provided on the doors and that was helpful for preventing additional bugs from entering the home. Very peaceful & isolated but quick 20 min drive to Nederland for restaurants,groceries,a few shops. House was very clean w/comfy mattresses, fully stocked and roomy kitchen with big table to sit and play games and share meals. Beautiful deck and views from inside.This house could easily be 5 stars with a few improvements. The management company said we were first renters and gave us a slight discount but it is definitely missing a few items to make it visitor ready. No lamps in any of the rooms, bedrooms or main living areas. Lights are either on or off. We were not there to watch TV but would have been nice to have a comfy place for our group of 5 to sit. Room with TV downstairs had uncomfortable chairs for 2. Huge room upstairs with stone fireplace and wood ceilings had one pink and one green MCM couch- (strange choices) but no tv and no lamps. Electrical outlets half not working in kitchen.Deck chairs provided when we asked -responsive management. Thank you Christine, for allowing us to host your mountain getaway! We were the first guests at this home and provided some feedback to the host regarding things we would like to see differently. The property is beautiful but probably best suited for couples and families with teens or older. It is situated on a cliff so not necessarily safe for younger kids to play outside. If you are looking for a romantic getaway with great views.this is perfect! If you are looking for a place that is convenient to other activities this place may not be for you. The nearest town with a grocery store was approximately 30 min away. Otherwise other places were 60 to 90 min away. The hot tub was not working during our stay and will be a fabulous addition to this home when it is up and running. AWD/4WD highly recommended as the property is located 3.5 miles up and off main paved roads. While we spent a lot of time driving to different activities this was no fault to the host, just based on our interests. Thank you, Shannon, for your excellent feedback!
