Property Description

Room for 13, but maximum occupancy of 10 per Boulder County Vacation Rental regulations.  Outdoor hot tub, and all new bedding.

Huge 5-bedroom, 3-level home on 4 private acres in the mountains near Nederland.  Outdoor hot tub, and all new bedding. Relax by a warm fire in the wood stove (free stacked wood included in rental) in this large home on a large lot that is perfect for a family or multi-family time in the mountains away from any neighbors.

The home is situated 5 minutes away from Nederland on a very private dirt road. You will enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Front Range mountains while being close to the scenic mountain town of Nederland Colorado. Hike on your 4 acres or walk or drive a few minutes to Nederland area favorites like Mud Lake, Caribou Ranch open space, and the ghost town of Caribou. On the way to Nederland, you'll drive past the 'Ned rink' which has tennis in the summer and ice skating, hockey and curling (yes, curling) in the winter. The shops and restaurants of Nederland are only 5 minutes away and you can stock up on supplies, gas and groceries while there. Then another 10 minutes gets you up the mountains to Eldora Ski Resort where you'll find lots of alpine and cross country skiing. In 35 mins you can be in Boulder, in what the locals call down in 'flat lands'. 20 mins to gambling towns of Black Hawk and Central City (where there is a world-class operating opera hall, too!). 45 mins to the Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park.

The entry level of the home has a completely open floor plan with dining, kitchen and living areas all surrounded by natural wood floors and ceilings and plenty of windows to see the woods outside. The dining table seats 8 and there is room for 4 more at the kitchen counter. The well-equipped kitchen has granite countertops, tiled back splash, and all the extras you would expect in a home of this quality. Also on the main level is a 'kids' bedroom that sleeps three, in a queen futon with twin bunk on top. It has plenty of space, with two windows and a skylight, a desk and sofa, and two floor massage chairs, plus its own flat panel TV for watching and gaming. The kids may never leave their own retreat to join you if it weren't for the pool table on the ground level walk-out basement downstairs. Downstairs is a gaming/living area with chairs and a sofa, and that pool table. The large wood stove is also on this level so that the wood heat filters up through the rest of the home. The downstairs has two full baths and three bedrooms. One has a queen bed, and two have memory foam king beds that can also be split into 2 twins each, if that suits your party better. One of the king bedrooms has an attached en suite full bath, with the sink in the bedroom. All downstairs bedrooms have nice windows to the wooded outdoors and a closet. There is also a laundry room with a new full-sized washer and dryer, and utility sink downstairs. From downstairs, you can walk out to your large patio where you can enjoy the wooded back yard and bring in wood to keep the fire going. You can grill up dinner in the fresh mountain air on the patio. Heading upstairs, the entire 3rd level is an enormous master suite. The bedroom has an aspen king bed and a door to a 3rd floor deck. French doors lead to a reading area that has a futon sofa (two more could sleep there if you want). Through the French doors to the right is a large master spa area with a 2-headed walk-in shower, 2 sinks and a jetted tub with a view. The walk-in closet also in this area is as large as most bedrooms.

The home has dish TV and satellite internet/Wi-Fi throughout. Cell phones work occasionally on property but service is poor. NOTE: The internet is via satellite, so email and web browsing will work perfectly, BUT STREAMING IS NOT ALLOWED. Satellite internet connections are limited to 10GB/mo which would be 3 hours of a movie on Netflix, so we pass the charge of $0.50/MB for any use over 250Mb per guest along to you. Sorry for this limitation, but satellite is the only way to get internet to this remote location (that is still just 3 mins drive to Nederland where the LTE service is over 50Mbps... go figure...). You will have access to the 2-car garage, too! Keeps two vehicles warm in the winter time. Note that the home is on a private dirt road that may require 4wd in the winter -- the road is plowed, but not hourly, or even daily, like a public road. AND ... There is an outdoor 6-person hot tub, accessible from the walk-out downstairs area. It's close to the house, but not too close. A perfect spot to watch the sunset with friends and a beverage of your choice (in a non-glass container :-). QUIET PLEASE: Our neighbors in this peaceful mountain community moved here for the tranquility and privacy. Guests to the property will need to respect our neighbors by respecting property boundaries and Boulder County Noise ordinances. No outdoor parties. Music must be played softly and conversations kept to normal levels.

Expect limited or no cell phone service at the home. However, all four major US carriers (T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon) provide Wi-Fi calling, and if your plan supports that, you will be able to make calls when connected to the internet at the home.
