The showers and tub were warm and lots of water pressure. The living area was cozy with the fireplace lit while we snuggles in the couch and watched a movie. Deer and a fox roamed outside the cabin as we enjoyed the beautiful views. March 3, 2024 - Skyrun Charming cabin with Mt views by Cici Our 2nd visit back, because we enjoyed our stay a couple years ago for ski trip w our daughter. Again, the views, warm fireplace, jetted tub did not disappoint. We found all basic utensils to cook with and the host left a treat of local ground coffee for us to enjoy. The only glitch was that the water softener system was out., and I believe was to have been replaced by plumber which it wasn’t. So the running water to cook with and brush teeth was extremely salty:(. We contacted property mngr and was instructed to let it run and it may help , they did apologize for delay in plumber repairing before we arrived. We ran to the store and bought a few X-Lg big gallons of spring water and liter bottles to drink and cook with during our stay. Again- the cabin is warm and cozy, and great for couple get away or for a small family., would consider returning if the water softener system is repaired. Weve stayed at a lot of rental properties and this one is near the top for being stocked with all the necessities. It was a quick trip, so we didnt utilize most of it, but it was well setup for those who want to just show up and enjoy a getaway. There is nothing worse than arriving at a rental and having to go out and find the basics to get by like paper products and soap. This place had everything ready to go. The home is well suited for 4 people but can feel cramped if youre planning on staying in. It is a good location in terms of accessibility to other locations (Boulder, Denver) if youre exploring the area for the first time and have a car. Also, the house is a short drive to Eldora ski resort. The view of the mountains from the house is spectacular. The house itself was clean and well organized, with only a few issues, those being several flies in the cabin and issues maintaining the indoor fireplace lit. Glad you saw some wildlife 🙂 September 25, 2023 - Skyrun Majestic views by Beronica This was my 8th visit to CO in this area and by far this cabin provided us with the best stay. We enjoy being semi-remote and yet have access to stores and this was perfect. This cabin is situated on one of the higher mountain peaks that allow for gorgeous views. Everyday was a different experience through the picture windows. It is very well maintained and very comfortable. Being there in mid September we were able to enjoy the fire-pit outside as well as the cozy fireplace indoors. We do not like to eat out much so we cooked most of our meals in the well equipped kitchen. There was coffee and filters already there for us to use as well. I had to work a day while I was there on a video call and enjoyed using the loft for a quieter area and the internet worked very well. We had a minor issue during out stay and reached out to SkyRun. They were very responsive and asked if they could take care of it right away even though for us it wasn't emergent. Thank you! We saw hummingbirds feeding out the window as well as mule dear. If you're looking for a change of scenery and don't mind staring out into the beautiful rocky mountains while eating breakfast or enjoying a cold beer, this is the place. The drive to get to SkyRun is outta this world beautiful and picturesque. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that I wish the bathroom windows, the kitchen window, and the main entrance door had blinds to close up at night for some added privacy, especially the the bathroom windows since those are clear and not frosted, so showering felt a bit weird. It's definitely not a deal breaker, and I would definitely 100% recommend this place and my family and can't wait to go back! Our family gathered this year at the SkyRun Cabin for Xmas and it was fabulous. The cabin is gorgeous! and provided us the perfect spot to relax, reconnect and enjoy the holidays. First, she decorated the cabin from top to bottom, second she made us know that she was available anytime we needed resupplying us with firewood during our stay and offering some technical support when needed; lastly, she dropped off an extra space heater "just in case" before the artic snow storm swept through the area. You will receive first class service and accommodations. Eldora ski mountain is 20 minutes away, Boulder and Golden 35mins and Denver is under an hour. We will be back! Food items are NOT discarded between guests so there is always a stock of things that you wouldn't buy for a 4-5 day stay but are nice to have available. We would go back, no hesitation. The homes are so well insulated here that they maintain the cool better in the daytime. Cell phone service can be spotty in the Mountains, and we appreciate your mentioning that. Hosts were very accommodating and they left perfect instructions for the property and how to use the features. Local town of Nederland has some fabulous places to visit including one of the best pizza places in the state, Crosscut Pizza. Kids loved playing on the rocks and exploring outside. We were VERY pleased with the smart capabilities of the house and the smart tv. I only wish we had tvs in the bedrooms, just for another space to relax and have some entertainment. The bathrooms had floor warmers and heated towel racks. It was really worth the money. We grilled out and used the the firepit. Nothing was too complicated. I encourage anyone to stay at this rental. Our family of four stayed 4 nights in late December and had an absolutely wonderful time. The cozy cabin provided a comfortable respite from the cold and snowy days and we took full advantage of the fireplace during our stay. The cabin is an easy to manage 8-ish miles from Nederland, even for someone that's never driven in the snow, and is just off the 2-lane highway. Also, at least during snowy weather, trucks run around the clock to clear and salt the highway, so we didn't have to worry about getting stuck in the cabin with 2 kiddos. We spent most of our trips out driving into Nederland and loved the little town. On our last full-day, we made the 1.5 hr drive up the mountain to Fraser Hill for tubing and it was very much worth the drive for the fun we had. The cabin itself, is well appointed and very welcoming. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you might need for making meals and the heated bathroom floors will spoil you forever. The ladder up to the loft is a bit steep, but sturdy, and after a few times up and down, you don't really mind it. All the beds seemed comfortable and we didn't have any trouble sleeping. We also used the gas grill one day for burgers and it was nice to take in the views while grilling out. Those views are just something else. Even near the highway, it's easy to stare out into the snow-covered mountains through the large kitchen window and forget yourself for a bit. We didn't test our AWD rental up the icy driveway during our stay even though Linda took it right up with no issue when we arrived (to help with the unloading of our baggage, which was really nice of her). We parked at the bottom of the hill and just walked up and down during our stay. We might have salted the drive, but it was more fun for us to use the driveway as a sledding hill. We were Texans just there for fun in the snow so this was a fine trade in our book.All in all, we'd definitely recommend this cozy little cabin. We had an absolutely memorable stay and would come back for another winter getaway if we get the chance. Thanks for the review. I'm so glad to hear you were able to enjoy yourselves. The cabin was staged perfectly with warm lights, music and a magnificent view. 7am sun rise gives a different exciting view every morning. Coming from Florida we were so excited about having a fire every night. If we did nothing else, nights by the fireplace would have been enough for me. The cabin is well stocked and a 10 minute drive from a grocery store if you need anything. It was an adventure to climb the ladder to the loft where there are two more beds and lots of room if you need it. We came hoping it would snow but out of luck. Loved taking long drives on the curvy roads with breathtaking scenery. Eldora Mountain is close and a lovely drive and full of snow for skiing and snowboarding. My husband and I stayed here for our babymoon and really enjoyed our time. A few days before our stay, property management emailed me to let me know the Wi-Fi was down and would most likely not be working during our stay. They offered a small refund for each night for the inconvenience or another cabin that did have Wi-Fi. We opted for the refund, as we really wanted to stay in the cabin and had an unplugged weekend, except for when we went into Boulder. We also ended up having no running water our first night and the following morning, but I emailed property management when we went into town, and Linda called me right away and had the problem sorted by the time we got back. She also left us two gallons of purified water in case the water went out again and some kettle corn. The communication was great, and Linda was incredibly helpful. We had a lovely weekend and would stay here again. Yes, Jovanna, your stay had a couple hiccups! Thanks for being as communicative as you were and I'm glad it all worked out in the end. We were moved from this place after a few days because the Wi-Fi went out, and I was working remotely. They made it right, and we are waiting on a partial refund. The place was clean, though, it did have a bug problem. The second place did not, though, a train went through the backyard every 5 hours or so. The views were incredible at both places. This place did have thin walls, so it was easy to hear people in the other bedroom. The places were relatively updated and provided many comforts. Owners and Skyrun made themselves available and got back to us in a couple hours of contacting them if we texted and sooner if we called. All in all, a lovely trip. Thanks for the honest review, Brett. We definitely got right on the Wi-Fi issue for you and tried to make things right with you. Our records show that you have now received the refund we submitted when you checked out. We were so sorry that the Wi-Fi broke during your stay, especially when you were planning to do work on your vacation. (The Wi-Fi has now been restored with a new provider!) We were glad we had another beautiful home to offer you that you decided to move into. We love our Crescent Station house, the second home you mention, and get a lot of train aficionados visiting there. (We also are very clear about the train in that homes listing and were upfront with you about the train.) Sorry about the extra bugs at Sky Run Cabin overall, bugs are not bad in this part of Colorado. While harmless, if not a little bit cute, those Conifer Seed bugs can be found on the floor during some periods, unless we resort to heavy duty chemicals, which we choose not to do. Quite a drive to most places so keep that in mind, although it may only be a few dozen miles to places like Estes park or Boulder, it takes much much longer due to the slow winding mountain roads to get everywhere. Road traffic does go right in front of the cabin like the description states and its loud. Even at 2am cars and trucks are doing burnouts and speeding down the highway and everything echos. Perhaps winter would be a better time with less traffic and the sound dampening snow. The views were amazing. There was lots of little things around the cabin to make our stay more enjoyable.Overall it was a fun experience, and the reviews show positive feedback; personally Im not sure I would stay again for the reasons listed above. Beautiful flowers greeted us up the driveway. I could sit on the patio all day but there was too much exploring to be done. We rafted, went to concert at the Red Rocks, had a guide teach us to fly fish, took a train through the Royal Gorge, and of course went to the Rocky Mountain National park! This location was ideal even though for us Michiganders it doesn’t take us nearly as long to travel the same amount of miles ?. The mountain roads are so worth it! The loft and ladder are great for kids looking to have a private, fun space - and the basket for sending supplies up to the loft was a big hit! The views are stupendous and ever-changing throughout the day! Cabin is fully stocked - had freshly ground coffee from a nearby store, extra pantry supplies for cooking, and lots of cool technology such as Alexa speakers throughout. The road noise is noticeable but fine on the weekdays. The weekend road noise was heavier with motorcycles and just generally more traffic passing through, so if youre looking for more quiet nights, pick weekdays. There were two other cabins clearly visible (and vice versa) from the patio but still somewhat secluded. High tech bathroom gadgets and fireplace made the place fun and comfortable. The view is spectacular and the scenic drives nearby were just as beautiful. 20 min drive to Nederland and 45 min to Blackhawk. Would highly recommend! We will definitely be going back! It so close to lots of activities and easy to get to (no I70) traffic. The cabin is spacious and can easily accomodate 6-8 people. We loved the wood burning fireplace and the wood was provided. The BBQ and fire pit are super nice and located under a covered area. Both bathrooms are awesome. One with a soaking tub/shower and the other with a double walk in shower and heated floors in both. We spent one day in Boulder (just a short drive) and had fun touring CU with our kids and then lunch on Pearl Street. Really good brewery on Pearl Street (West Flanders Brewing). The next day we went skiing at Eldora (also a short drive). It was a lot of fun. There is a great little store about 15 minutes away with has a great beer and wine selection and there is a Mexican restaurant about 10 minutes away. The cabin offers a lot f privacy and a mountain feel, but still close to Golden, Boulder and skiing. We will be staying there again for sure!!!
