The Tree House is located near the historic gold mining (now gambling) towns of Black Hawk and Central City, Colorado.  It is not a tree house :-), but you'll climb 16 stairs to reach your 2nd floor perch.  In this lovely apartment (over the owner's first floor storage area), you'll be looking out over the trees to snowcapped peaks from your 2nd-story wrap-around deck.  The deck has a grill for outdoor cooking, plus a small fire pit for additional mood. Lovely design and amenities!

The light-filled living room is a cozy place to relax, with a sofa and an oversized chair, and a gas instant-on fireplace under the HDTV. There is only one bed, so if you have a third person, they would sleep on the couch. There are three sets of sliding doors out to the deck, so you can drink in the fresh mountain air. The unique dining table is from the owner's boat and folds down to seat up to 3 or 4 comfortably.  The kitchen and LARGE pantry area are fully stocked.  The appliances are full size except the 1/2 size dishwasher (perfect for 2-3 people). A Keurig Coffee Maker will make an instant cup of Joe. Enjoy the deck views while you grill up some dinner. 

Enter the queen bedroom from the sliding barn door.  Use the full-sized closet to store all your stuff, even for a long stay, and watch a 2nd TV.  The bathroom is off the living area and has a sink, toilet and luxuriously tiled shower. You can stay here for a while, as there is a lovely stacked washer and dryer ready to wash your clothes after a hike. 

Ready to relax after your Colorado adventures? Soak in your own private hot tub, complete with its own fire pit. 

Make some fortune and history of your own! This quiet retreat is just five minutes down the road from the gambling towns of Black Hawk and Central City. Here you'll enjoy gaming, entertainment, nature, and history with a unique Western kick. Then escape to your own space to dream of how to spend your winnings! (We hope, but we can't guarantee!) Plenty of free parking and complimentary shuttle service throughout the cities make true Western fun and adventure easy. You can explore Colorado's authentic past, enjoy outdoor activities like hiking or biking and experience world-class restaurants and casinos. All this, in a picturesque mountain setting like no other.  These towns also have an assortment of museums, shops and antiques, and the Central City Opera House. One of the best opera houses in America (built in the 1887), this jewel is open for performances in summer or year round for tours. Come up for an opera, and make it a romantic getaway in our Treehouse!

Gilpin County Rec Center is two minutes up the road with a large indoor lap pool, kids water play area and slides, an indoor running track, a full gym, fitness and free weights, and other games, like ping pong.  Admission is just $5/person.

Denver and Boulder are only 45 mins away and the quirky mountain town of Nederland, with it's famous Carousel of Happiness, coffee shops, and restaurants, and Eldora Mountain Ski area, is a 20-minute drive. Coming to Red Rocks for a concert? It's only a 35-minute drive away!

There are literally 100s of miles of hiking and biking trails everywhere you go and the owner has kayaks that can be rented for $30/day/kayak (in season, and you'll need to transport them to Gross Reservoir for kayaking).  If exploring outside isn't your thing, relax in your car and enjoy some nearby scenic drives. There is so much to do in the area for a stay of 2 to 20 nights, and the Treehouse is the perfect place to call home while you are here.
