Eldora Mountain Resort is only 21 miles (about 35 minutes) west of Boulder, Colorado, making it the easiest resort for most people on the Front Range to get to. Coming from DIA, it is also the closest ski resort. In fact, their slogan is, “Eldora: Closer to You.”
And while this resort isn’t as popular as some of the bigger names, it still has so many things skiers and riders love. There are dozens of runs of all levels for both alpine and nordic skiing. The ski passes are an incredible deal and you can’t find a better place to take the whole family with the pricing and the proximity in the Front Range. There are four places to eat on the mountain so you can regain your energy during or after a long day on the slopes.
Eldora may have hit 55 years old but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have something brand new for you. Recently purchased by Powdr Adventure Lifestyle Co. Eldora is looking fresh these days. Powdr also now owns Copper Mountain, and they are making these resorts more sustainable so we can continue to play in the snow. The latest member of the Eldora family is the high-speed six-seater chairlift, “The Alpenglow Lift.” You can sit comfortably enjoying the scenic view of the pines and peaks then hit the slopes faster. This isn’t the only new feature to Eldora, but they also added a few more runs and remodeled the bathrooms. Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?
Eldora offers some incredibly diverse terrain—everything from mellow beginner slopes, rolling groomers, steep trees, glades, eight world-class Woodward terrain parks, and miles of secluded Nordic trails. With the mountain's naturally progressive layout, they have terrain for every type of skier and rider.
Not only does Eldora boast incredible proximity to Colorado's Front Range, but is also the only resort serviced by Denver's public transportation RTD. They also have expanded their parking areas and give priority parking to car-pooling vehicles with 3 or more passengers.
Ikon Pass holders can also enjoy unlimited access to Eldora and the ski resort is usually the first Ikon Pass partner resort to open in Colorado!
Not a skiier or rider? No problem! Eldora has something for everyone - from local dining and après options to signature events like ski racing, slolom, music series and more!
